The Medical Marijuana Doctors of New York launched its new clinics in Albany, Buffalo, Kingston, and Manhattan with the aim of giving more accessible, affordable, and convenient healthcare services to citizens of New York. This advanced telehealth facility is open for online consultations during COVID19 for patients who are looking into medical marijuana as a treatment alternative for their condition.

Qualified primary care physicians are available from Monday to Saturday to discuss medical conditions and how or why medical marijuana is a viable treatment route to recovery. During consultation, doctors will conduct an initial assessment based on the patient’s medical records and, after a patient is deemed qualified for a medical marijuana card, a physician certification will be issued. This certification is needed to proceed with the application.

Making the process even more convenient, the clinic has a telehealth system that uses the power of the internet and allows patients to discuss their condition with registered healthcare providers while in the comfort of their own homes. Patients only need a mobile phone, a laptop, a tablet, or a computer to connect and speak with doctors online. Patients are also advised to prepare proof of their qualifying condition and other supporting documentation such as proof of identity and residency.

The medical marijuana program in the state of New York has specifically listed the following conditions as part of the criteria when applying for a card:

  • Cancer
  • HIV / AIDS
  • Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) or Lou Gehrig’s Disease
  • Parkinson’s Disease
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Spinal Cord Nerve Injury with Intractable Spasticity
  • Epilepsy
  • Inflammatory Bowel Disease
  • Chronic Pain
  • Opioid alternative for pain that degrades health and functional capability
  • Neuropathy
  • Huntington’s disease
  • Post-traumatic stress disorder
  • Substance use disorder
  • Cachexia or wasting syndrome
  • Severe or chronic pain
  • Severe nausea
  • Seizures
    Severe or persistent muscle spasms

The Medical Marijuana Doctors of New York was established by Dr. Sam who is backed by seven years of medical marijuana certification across the country. Dr. Sam spent years refilling opiate and benzodiazepine prescriptions. Seeing the need for a new treatment method to improve people’s health, Dr. Sam realized that there had to be a better way. He began exploring into medical marijuana as a treatment that is less invasive, and is instead more natural and safe, and soon got his certification as a registered medical marijuana doctor. With his vision of seeing more Americans living a healthier and more comfortable life, Dr. Sam began establishing medical marijuana card centers that assist patients in getting physician certifications so they may apply for a medical marijuana card.

While it is currently focused on improving the lives of New York residents by providing them with an easily accessible healthcare network that will guide them with their medical marijuana card application, the clinic has plans of expanding its presence with the goal of reaching more New York cities. With Dr. Sam’s and his fellow healthcare professionals’ shared goal and passion, this is surely not far from happening.
