Governor Cuomo has shifted his focus from legalizing recreational marijuana to helping New York get through the current pandemic. But some lawmakers are looking for an alternative way to get it done. Some have suggested that they gather on Zoom to make a decision.
Cuomo thinks that it might be too complicated of a decision to make using online meeting spaces, the Market Realist said. It is possible, but will require a bit of organization first. Marijuana legalization is still a priority in the state, so taking an alternative route seems ideal in these unprecedented times.
Cuomo said, “As far as getting into a very complex issue that requires real analysis and real data and trying to do that on Zoom conferences, I don’t know that that’s the best way to do it, but that’s up to them also.”
It’s unclear what route New York lawmakers will take when it comes to marijuana legalization.
