NY Listening Sessions for Marijuana Legalization Begin This Week

Cannabis States

Public hearings regarding marijuana legalization start this week in Albany. There will be 15 listening sessions throughout the state. The first is to be held September 5 at the Albany Capital Center.

The second hearing is September 6 at the SUNY Adirondack campus in Queensbury, according to WAMC Northeast Public Radio. The hearings are to be informative but those interested in learning the direction that New York intends to go with marijuana legalization are urged to attend. Some venues may have limited space.

With 15 sessions scheduled, they will wrap up in mid-October. There will be more hearings offered by a few New York Democratic State Assembly members later in the fall.
