Another New York Dispensary Has Started Providing Marijuana Deliveries

NYC Dispensary

New York medical marijuana patients have another option for home delivery of their medicine. Columbia Care is offering delivery to patients in Rochester. The new service has undergone a testing phase for the last several weeks.

The pilot delivery program operated via the Eastman Business Park location, according to Democrat and Chronicle. This location was chosen due to its convenience for patients in the area. The products being delivered include capsules, tinctures and vaporization oils.

Columbia Care CEO, Nicholas Vita, said, “We found that patients travel the farthest in that part of the state to come to us. The need was most obvious there. Second, it’s an environment that doesn’t have the complexity of New York City, where you have so many more opportunities to make mistakes. Our idea was to start in an area where we knew the landscape very well and could solve the greatest need immediately.”

Columbia Care has done much of its growing out of the public eye. A strict delivery policy was approved by the state. The state also approved the dispensary’s security policy.

Vita said, “There are a number of aspects of the plan that we don’t discuss in a public forum. You can imagine it’s designed to be very secure. It’s designed to be very low visibility.”

The dispensary has not released delivery fees. It is also working to reduce the cost of its products over the course of the next year. The pilot program is said to be going smoothly with plans to continue it and branch out to other locations around New York State.
