New York Improves Medical Marijuana Program Due to Demand

Cannibis

The demand for medical marijuana access in New York is increasing and the Department of Health is making enhancements to meet the increased demand. Nurse practitioners are now permitted to start certifying patients in the same day. This helps make the registration process easier for patients.

A follow-up course for medical marijuana education for nurse practitioners is being added, according to Syracuse.com. New York’s medical marijuana program now has over 22,000 patients. The increased patient enrollment requires a faster and more efficient process for patient certification.

Chronic pain was added as a qualifying condition in March. Since then, there has been a significant increase in enrollment with 7,504 new patients.
