NY Assembly Approves PTSD as Qualifying Condition for Medical Marijuana

The New York Assembly approved measures to expand it’s medical marijuana qualifying conditions list to include PTSD. The bill moves onto the Senate. Republicans have control in New York’s Senate.

The momentum is continuing to expand the state’s medical marijuana program, according to US News & World Report. New York’s medical marijuana program is only a year old. Serious illnesses like Lou Gehrig’s disease and cancer are on the limited list of qualifying conditions.

Assemblyman Richard Gottfried, who sponsored the bill, says evidence proves medical marijuana to be effective for treating PTSD.
